Nothing against slate but “constant maintenance” for granite? That’s a little over the top.
Granite is a rock, one that’s a lot harder than slate by the way. I’ve had granite countertops for the lat 10+ years and never done ANY maintenance on them (much less constant) and they are perfect!
I think a far better method to picking countertops would simple be asthetics.
You make a valid point, Rob. Designer preferences come into play here, as well.
